Owner Michelle has always had a strong connection and sensitivity to animals. As a child, teenager and adult, animals have been able to sense the connection to Michelle, resulting in a special trust resulting in a unique bond. Michelle has shared her life with cats, dogs, a pet rat, hamsters, fish, a guinea pig, a budgie bird, and a horse. In elementary school often volunteered to take home the class room, hamster, guinea pig or snake to care for over long weekends and Christmas holidays. In addition as a teenager worked on a farm, to help pay for her own horse’s board, cared for sheep, cows, horses, chickens, ducks, a donkey. At one time caring for 7 horses. Not just feeding and keeping them clean but also assisting in these animals in giving birth and caring for them when they were ill.
In addition many times has cared for injured wildlife, both birds and animals. Following divorce, Michelle spent many years in retail management, and corporate sales management, and obtaining a University degree, while raising her son on her own. Once her son was full grown, Michelle decided to return to the life of her passion, being surrounded by animals. This led to the start of Diggity Dog and Lonesome Kitty pet care business. Diggity Dog started as dog walking and dog boarding then evolved to the addition of Lonesome Kitty Cat hotel and a grooming service of both cats and dogs. In addition Michelle has developed her own private label of health supplements for cats and dogs, “Daisy’s Optimum Health”, comprised of essential nutrients, such as probiotics, digestive enzymes, omegas, tear stain away products and hip and joint therapy, helping to maximize each pet’s quality of life. Diggity Dog and Lonesome Kitty has been in business for more than 20 years. At this location since 2001. Many clients have been repeat customers for the entire time.
